At last, I have a new router, new switch and additional access point.
So I took the opportunity to also rearrange all the components. The main issue was the router in the utilities closet. Because of it, WiFi sucked ass! Furthermore, the equipment sucked even more. A daily restart was needed for the WiFi.
Now that all pieces are positioned strategically, WiFi reception is outstanding almost everywhere.
Tho reception is more then good, I have only now noticed, that I purchased the wrong AP. It only has 100Mb/s and not 1Gb/s :-(
But, since the router in RE is renewed as well, I can maybe use my AP in RE and buy meself a new one ;-)
So in RE internet is a lost faster when using WiFi and the signal is much more stable. You especially notice it, when streaming and downloading.
Anyways, because of the different placement of equipment, I had to pull cables all over the house. Yes, it sounds paradox, pulling cables for WiFi. But, since I am a hack, I drilled a couple of incorrect holes :-(
Plus all the hiding of cables is not finished.
Oh well, maybe next year!
