I have decided to redo the office. Why, you ask? ... Simply because I never really liked the layout of the current setup. Also, since my new assignment I have been and will be working from home about 50% to 75% of the time. So space must be optimally utilized, yet still be comfortable.
This will also be a good opportunity to clean out all the old junk that should be thrown away ;-)
Since I have a huge L-shaped desk there are really not many options or wiggle room, but I think I have found a better solution that the current setup
Since my new printer is network-based, I will move it out of the office creating more space.
But for the new place where the printer will stand, I need a squared cupboard, that is 50cm * 50cm and will hold at least 50kg, maybe with drawers and wheels. The width must be less then 54cm, but it can be deeper. It can be as high as 70cm.
Then I need to pull 2 ethernet cables from my router to the office.
Clear out the bookshelf, dismantle the desk, do cabling, rebuild desk and bookshelf, put stuff back into bookshelf, set up computers and Bob's your uncle.
Easy-peasy, one would think... however it does sound like a lot of work :-(
So, lets start the hunt for that drawer cupboard less the exercise is mood.
Oooh, ... Any volunteers to clean out the office, throw away the junk and de/re-assemble the furniture??
Step 1 is done. The printer is moved out of the office and put in the hall-way.
ReplyDeleteStep 2: Threw away what feels like half of the junk in the cubboard, but the cubboard is still full :-( Need to go thru the remaining junk again and throw more out.
ReplyDeleteUgh!!!
Went over the cupboard three times. Only now it looks "clean". Also decided to expand the parameter of rooms to clean out. Threw away stuff from the attic as well.
ReplyDeleteResult: Muscle ache from walking up the stairs, and the attic is still full of junk :-(
